Bridal bliss. ...

My sweetest friend Katie is getting married to her prince charming in just a few short weeks. My mother and I threw a tea party fit for a princess at my mother's adorable pink palace. Here are some of the pictures of the event.

What party would be complete without vintage prom dresses hanging from the trees?

The back end of my mother's new vintage trailer, complete with window boxes!

Beautiful food table with edible flower cupcakes.

Three generations of the sweetest women ever!

Myself with the bride to be. Katie is wearing a darling vinatge slip dress with "something blue". I made my pink party slip dress and Texas Trash  brooch necklace.

Here is the pink palace where the magic happens, yes it was a fairy tale growing up here.

Even the birds live in a fairy tale place.

Here is the inside of mom's vintage trailer!

Here are the table centers that my fabulous mother decorated using vintage cake toppers and old wedding pictures.

This was a truly memorable event and I'm so blessed to have a mother who is so talented to help me out with the tea party.
If you are interested in hosting a vintage themed party, shower, or tea, call my mother: Angela Burns.
She is the most fabulous hostess in the state of Texas.

East Bound and Down... Loaded up and Truckin'

Let me start by saying that Roundtop Antique Week is simply the grandest event in Texas history. I get more thrilled over rusty furniture, old jewelry, vintage photos, and lace than anything else in the entire world! Ofcourse prom night beats any old high school prom, I've never seen so many gussied up gals drinking whiskey and beer! So here are just a few pictures from my fabulous trip, with my very best friend, my mother.
So Pinky was absolutely the talk of the trailer park. Those big white slide- outs were so jealous of her blushing color and silver wings!
Ofcourse Mother Dearest and I looked fabulous in pink and blue. I love wearing my feather earrings from the very talented Brenda Stewart of Girls Gone Junkin'.

Snapped a quick photograph with Amie from Junk Gypsy prom night.

You wouldn't believe there are more pink trailers in the world, would ya?

And we danced the night away under the big top, well atleast until our boots had enough boot scootin'.
Yes that is a teepee made from burlap and lace. Who says playing cowboys and indians can't be girly?
Many of Pinky's distant relatives were showing off their paint jobs at Roundtop too.

So I guess y'all are wanting to know what we bought, let's just say a truck load full and an elk named Henry.
AND.........

Drum roll please....

......another pink trailer for my mother. Look out world - Double the Trouble. I promise to post more pictures as the restoration begins!! Thank God for antiques, pink trailers, and Daddy for not having a stroke when we told him about the BIG suprise on wheels.

Rewind....

Wow! What fun we've had over the past few weeks traveling to Fort Worth and Waxahachie. I met so many new friends and saw some of the most talented artists and decorators in the Lone Star State. "Pinky" (aka my little pink trailer) was the belle of the ball at Petticoats on the Prairie  in Waxahachie. Here are a few pics from the shows.
Yes that is Jezebel all dressed up.
Now all I can do is count down the days until Mother Dearest and I travel to Round Top, Tx for antique week and junk prom. This has been a famous mother- daughter trip for the past several years. I can't wait to hook up "Pinky" and put some Loretta Lynn on the radio. All my stress will disappear as soon as I see this old sign.
I'll put on my vintage dress and cowboy boots and dance underneath those big Texas stars.
Here are a few pictures from proms of the past.
"Praise the Lord, Hallelujah. There is nothing more exciting than junk prom in the Lone Star State."

Y'all should join us for prom. Visit Gypsyville for more info!!

Virgins, Saints, and Sinners....oh my!

Come one and all out to Waxahachie this weekend. We won't judge you  for bein' a sinner, heck I'm a little trashy myself. So whichever you choose to be (virgin, saint, or sinner), I have a necklace for you.

And for those of you sinners who choose to be a brothel inspector, don't forget your cuffs.

Get your mind out of the gutter, I meant bracelet cuffs.

I'll fly away on a sin wagon...

"So Jezebel, are you gettin' all gussied up for the upcomin' Texas Trash shows?"
"I'm not gonna let them high falootin hootin' annies show me up Ellie- Mae."

It's that time again, Spring, time to fly away and travel the Texas highways showin' off what I think is "gooder'n grits". I hope to see all y'all out at Funky Finds, Fort Worth this weekend. Then follow Jezelbel and Ellie- Mae down the road to Waxahachie for the Petticoats on the Prairie show.

As featured in the Flea Market Style magazine.

much obliged!

Valentine Tea

When I was growing up, my mother kept my world very sheltered as if my life were a fairy tale and tea was an every afternoon affair. She let me dress up in fancy dresses and use the fanciest vintage china. This tradition is still alive and I'm so blessed to share all of these precious moments with the women in my family who have shaped me and who have taught me to appriciate all things old, even vintage teacups.

Here is the beautiful setting my mother put together for our lovely afternoon Valentine tea.
My mother wore beautiful vintage lace dress with tall white gloves.
She even had heart shaped, cucumber sandwiches.
The tea party would not be complete without vintage hats and Texas Trash jewelry to wear.
(From left: Joyce, Grandmother Ginger, Grandmother Patsy, Linda, and my dearest mother.)

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Redesign, Repurpose, Reinvent...

Do you ever find yourself swimming in a sea of vinatge photos, jewelry, slips, lace, baubles, bliss? I do quite often. In fact, I have so much "junk" I was beginning to loose track of all my precious finds. Re- organization was my goal and I nailed it, just as Watchdog report nailed Miss Mona and the Chicken Ranch.  Now my art studio is my one sanctuary of holy s*#t!
My heart actually skips a beat when I look at this- pure happiness!!

A gal can never have too much jewelry. Mama's philosphy for life, "big hair, big teeth, big jewelry."

All the redesigning, repurposing, and reinventing paid off for my new studio. It's a business doin' pleasure with you.

"Slip" into something more vintage and a little more southern. Y'all come see me in Fort Worth and Waxahachie in March!!
